Sony Interactive Entertainment will release Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered<\/em> for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC, according to a new rating from the Entertainment Software Ratings Board<\/a>, which detailed the unannounced game. The ESRB description of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered<\/em> is identical to the original<\/a> Horizon Zero Dawn<\/a><\/em> that first launched on PlayStation 4 in 2017.<\/p>\n

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered<\/em> has not been officially announced by Sony or Guerrilla Games, but the project would be consistent with previous remasters of PS4 games (Marvel\u2019s Spider-Man<\/em>, The Last of Us Part 2<\/em>). The remaster\u2019s existence was first reported<\/a> back in 2022. Polygon has reached out to Sony for comment on the remaster and will update when the company responds.<\/p>\n

The original Horizon Zero Dawn<\/em> is playable on PS5 through backward compatibility. The game is also available on PC, thanks the 2020 release of Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition<\/a><\/em>. It\u2019s not clear yet what the Remastered<\/em> version of Guerrilla Games\u2019 open-world action-adventure game will bring to the Horizon Zero Dawn<\/em> experience.<\/p>\n

But the PS5 version would likely take advantage of the recently announced PlayStation 5 Pro<\/a>, which will be released in November. The PS5 Pro will run games at smoother frame rates and higher display resolutions, and with better ray tracing than the base PS5 does, Sony says.<\/p>\n

Horizon Zero Dawn<\/em> is a \u201cpost-post-post-apocalyptic\u201d adventure starring the heroine Aloy, a talented young huntress of mechanical beasts who is cast out from her tribe and desperately seeks answers about where she came from. In our review of the 2017 original game, we praised Guerrilla\u2019s work as \u201ca storied developer finally finding its voice.\u201d Guerrilla Games released a sequel, Horizon Forbidden West<\/a><\/em>, in 2022.<\/p>\n

The story of Horizon Zero Dawn<\/em> will also be reimagined in another game, Lego Horizon Adventures<\/a><\/em>, a comedic and more kid-friendly spin on the original game with a Lego-fied aesthetic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
